Compress a JPG to 100 KB

Free, with no daily limit. The target is already 100 KB. Each JPG is fitted on its own, on this device. Quality drops first. If that is not enough, the picture is made smaller.

Or paste a picture. The file is not uploaded. On an iPhone, Choose photos may hand you a JPEG instead of the original HEIC. This page accepts that too.

Each file is fitted on its own. JPG and WebP try a lower quality first. PNG is made smaller, because it has no quality step.

How to convert

  1. 1. Add JPG files

One photo or a batch. PNG and WebP belong on the image compressor. This page is for JPG.

  2. 2. Leave the 100 KB target, or change it

Fit under a file size is already on, at 100 KB. JPG stays selected. You can type another number if the form asks for something else.

  3. 3. Read the result

The row shows the real size. If the file is still over 100 KB, the note says so. The photo is not sent to a server to try a stronger encoder.

Questions

What if the JPG cannot get under 100 KB?

The page lowers quality, then shrinks the pixels, and then stops. It will say the file is still over the target. It will not upload the photo.

Will a photo that is already under 100 KB grow?

No. The fit stops once the file is under the target, using the highest quality that still fits.

Is 100 KB the right cap for my form?

Many email and portal limits are 100 KB. Visa, job, and school photo forms often say 200 KB instead. Use Compress a JPG to 200 KB for that cap.

Does this remove the photo's location?

Yes, unless you open More settings and choose Keep. The default strips GPS and can copy the other camera tags into the new JPG.
