How to convert

  1. 1. Add the PNG files

    Drop one PNG, a selection, or a folder. A JPG dropped here is reported instead of being converted quietly.

  2. 2. Set quality

    WebP is already selected. Quality 85 is the start. Transparency is kept, unlike a conversion to JPG.

  3. 3. Download the WebP

    One file downloads directly. A batch becomes a ZIP. The row shows whether the file actually got smaller.

Questions

Does WebP keep the PNG's transparency?

Yes. JPG would flatten it onto a background color. Stay on WebP, or switch to PNG, when the see-through areas matter.

Will a screenshot get smaller?

Screenshots with flat color often stay small as PNG and can grow as WebP. Photos and noisy images usually shrink. Read the percent on the row.

Is the PNG uploaded?

No. There is no conversion API on this site. The worker reads the bytes you already have.

Can I hit a size, such as 200 KB?

Turn on Fit under a file size and type the kilobytes. For a JPG with that target already filled in, use the 100 KB or 200 KB pages.
