Extract audio from video without an upload
Search pages for extract audio from video online free often send the file to a server, then delete it later. This page does not have that step. The demuxer and the encoders run here. You can watch the network list: the video bytes are not in a request body.
There is no watermark on the MP3, WAV, or M4A, and there is no account to create before the download.
MP4 to MP3 on iPhone, Android, and a PC
An iPhone on Safari 26, an Android phone on current Chrome, and a PC on Chrome or Edge can extract the audio. Safari 26 is the iPhone requirement because older iOS does not decode audio with WebCodecs. The page tells you when the browser cannot do it, and it still does not upload the video.
MP4 to MP3 is the common case. MOV from a phone and WebM from a screen recording use the same button. Pick WAV when you want the decoded audio without another lossy encode, and pick M4A when you want a smaller AAC file.
How to convert
-
1. Add a video
Drop an MP4, MOV, or WebM, or choose it from this device. On iPhone and Android the system picker hands the file to this page. It is not sent to a server.
-
2. Choose MP3, WAV, or M4A
MP3 is the usual choice when you want an MP4 to MP3 conversion. WAV keeps the decoded audio uncompressed. M4A is AAC in an audio file, about 128 kbps unless the track was already AAC and can be copied.
-
3. Download
One video becomes one audio file. Cancel stops the work and closes the extractor. Start another video after this one finishes. A phone and a computer both run one video at a time.
Questions
Does extract audio from video online free upload the file?
No. The page opens in the browser, and that is the whole of “online”. The video stays on this device. There is no account, no sign-up, and no watermark. The header should stay at 0 bytes uploaded. The privacy page shows the network-panel check.
Can I extract audio from video on iPhone?
Yes, in Safari 26 or newer. That Safari can decode the audio with WebCodecs. Older iOS shows an error and does not upload the video. If the Photos picker will not hand over the original, export the video to Files and choose that copy.
Can I extract audio from video on Android?
Yes, in current Chrome. The file stays on the phone. A video larger than about 160 MB is refused before it can run the tab out of memory. A computer allows about 400 MB. Those are the same ceilings as the photo tools.
Is this an MP4 to MP3 converter?
Yes. Choose MP3 and the page saves an MP3 at about 160 kbps. It also accepts MOV and WebM, and it can save WAV or M4A instead of MP3. The MP3 encoder loads from this site the first time you save an MP3. It is not uploaded with your video.
Which formats does this page actually support?
Input is MP4, MOV, and WebM, and only when this browser can decode the audio track. Output is MP3, WAV (16-bit PCM), and M4A (AAC). MKV, AVI, and other containers are not accepted. A silent file with no audio track stops with an error.
Is there a length cap, a watermark, or a daily limit?
No watermark, no sign-up, and no daily cap. There is no length cap beyond this device’s memory. One video runs at a time. Cancel closes the worker. A long video saved as WAV can be too big to hold; the page stops and asks you to save MP3 or M4A.
What if WebCodecs is missing?
The page says so and stops. Nothing is uploaded. Use Chrome, Edge, Firefox 130 or newer, or Safari 26. Firefox, and Chrome on Linux, cannot encode AAC themselves, so the first M4A loads an AAC encoder from this site. The first MP3 loads an MP3 encoder from this site.
Will the MP3 sound the same as the video?
No. MP3 and a newly encoded M4A compress the audio again. WAV is the decoded PCM and is much larger. About 160 kbps for MP3 and about 128 kbps for AAC is enough for speech and for most music that was already inside a video. If the source is already AAC, an M4A can copy that track without encoding it again.
Can I extract audio offline?
After the extractor has loaded, and after the MP3 or M4A encoder has loaded if you need that format, this tab can keep working while offline. A new visit has to load the page again. This is not an installed app.
