Compress a JPG to 200 KB

Free, with no daily limit. The target is already 200 KB. That is a common ceiling on visa, job, and university photo uploads. Each JPG is fitted on this device.

Drop images or a folder

Or paste a picture. The file is not uploaded. On an iPhone, Choose photos may hand you a JPEG instead of the original HEIC. This page accepts that too.

Used for JPG and WebP. PNG does not use this slider. 85 is the starting point.

Each file is fitted on its own. JPG and WebP try a lower quality first. PNG is made smaller, because it has no quality step.

JPG and PNG can keep camera details. WebP cannot keep the original details. The picture is saved right-side up.

How to convert

  1. 1. Add the JPG

Drop the photo the form asked for. HEIC from an iPhone should go through HEIC to JPG first, then come back if it is still too big.

  2. 2. Keep the 200 KB target

Fit under a file size is already set to 200. Quality is lowered before the pixel size changes, so a mild shrink stays closer to the original.

  3. 3. Download and check the form

Use the size on the row, not the estimate. If the form also wants a square passport crop, this page does not crop. Resize for a passport photo only scales.

Questions

Why 200 KB and not 100 KB?

A lot of application portals reject photos over 200 KB and still want a face that looks clear. 100 KB is the stricter page. Use it when the form says 100 KB or less.

Does compressing to 200 KB upload the JPG?

No. The fit runs in this browser. There is no server encoder and no account.

Will the face get soft?

Only as far as it must. The page tries a lower quality first and keeps the largest quality that lands under 200 KB. Shrinking the pixels is the fallback.

Can I do a whole folder?

Yes. Each file is fitted on its own. Download all packs the finished JPGs into one ZIP.
